If my wife, Sparky, ever leaves me, it won’t be because of the dazzling good looks that make me the target of other women’s desires, nor will it be the fact that I’m always right about everything.
Great story. I didn't see a Piggly Wiggly until I visited my Son in Alabama. It was magical. Everyone was so friendly and I gathered up some souvenir shirts to take home. One of the clerks made me a Piggly Wiggly name badge.
I was so happy.
When I saw the huge liquor department in the front I finally understood why Miss Daisy had to come every day, and why she needed a driver.
Mrs. Farrell, thank you for reading and enjoying! I worked at Piggly Wiggly in high school, then worked there full time at nights to "put myself through college." Now, you can't buy liquor at any grocery store in SC because of our Blue Laws, but I was blown away by a Pig up the road, on the way to Columbia, that had a full sit-down restaurant inside and a book vending machine at the front door! That's high times compared to Hampton, SC! LOL Thank you again and I appreciate you and all my readers so much.
Very nice story. I still haven't been inside a Piggly Wiggly yet. Publix, Food Lion, and Harris Teeters, yes. Being from New Jersey I know exactly how you feel. My wife (another Jersey native) runs through the store as if her life depended on it. I like to stroll as you do. Perhaps I am a slow Yankee. In any case, I enjoy reading your work. I look forward to ordering your books soon.
Thank you and nice to hear from you! Yeah, I like to enjoy my visit to any store, and always run into people I know, while my wife sprints so fast I can't keep up LOL It's even more of a problem when I go to a large store. Being from a small town, I am always amazed at all the variety of the shopping centers in larger areas. It's "country come to town" and I could spend an hour on one aisle! Take care and thanks for reading.
